Hi, I’m Chris Langley, founder and CEO of Chris Langley Timber & Langley Farms. From a young age, I followed my father through the woods, learning the ropes of the timber industry. After graduating from Lyman Ward Military Academy in Camp Hill, AL, in 1981, I founded Chris Langley Timber in 1983. I was inspired by my father, Scott Langley, who’s spent his entire life in the short log (pulpwood) business. It was a time when the industry was transitioning—from short wood to tree length, and from cables to grapples, and from railroad cars to 18-wheelers. Logging was evolving quickly, and I was right there for it.
In December 1993, I married my beautiful wife, Elizabeth Langley. Soon after, we started our family, raising four children: Christopher, Charles, Chandler, and Chelsea. Today, all of our children play an active role in the business, helping us manage day-to-day operations. As a team, we accomplish so much and continue to grow as a family business.
